Job Title: Sr. OCI Cloud Services Architect

Location : Richmond, VA

Work Type : In-person, 4 days a week

Contract Length : 09 months

Job Requirements and Responsibilities

The main role involves assisting with the design, review, and implementation of Oracle OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) services and solutions. The architect will work with a variety of stakeholders, including customer agencies, managed cloud suppliers, and internal teams, to ensure that the environment is:

• Efficient
• Effective
• Secure
• Compliant
  The role requires expertise in Oracle OCI, cloud architecture, and security, focusing on best practices and the well-architected framework for cloud services.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cloud Architecture Design and Implementation
   • Collaborating with agencies to ensure the effective deployment of Oracle OCI solutions.
   • Designing solutions within Oracle s cloud environment.
   • Ensuring security and compliance requirements are met.
2. Security Reviews
   • Conducting reviews of proposed projects and changes to assess the security and compliance of the IT environment.
   • The role involves thorough risk assessment and security protocols.
3. Collaboration with Teams
   • Working closely with internal teams and external suppliers to align cloud environments with business and technical objectives.
   • Contributing to the creation of detailed architectural diagrams and solution documents.
4. Documentation and Communication
   • Excellent communication is crucial as the role requires presenting and documenting technical details in a clear and understandable manner for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Skills and Experience Required

• Experience: At least 8 years in IT, with a focus on cloud architecture and operations.
• Hands-on Experience with OCI: Minimum 3 years working directly with Oracle OCI.
• Cloud Certifications: Preferred certifications in Oracle OCI (such as Cloud Ops, Cloud Architecture, or Cloud Security).

Technical Skills

1. Cloud Native Architectures:
   • Familiarity with Cloud Native paradigms (containers, serverless, etc.) and security methodologies.
   • Must have 8 years of experience in these areas.
2. OCI Specific Knowledge:
   • 4 years of hands-on experience designing solutions specifically within the Oracle OCI environment.
   • OCI certifications are highly preferred.
3. Cloud Networking:
   • 8 years of experience with networking in cloud (Virtual Networks, VPNs, Subnets, Network Security Groups, Load Balancers, etc.).
4. System/Application Migration:
   • Experience in migrating or managing operating systems or applications in enterprise cloud computing environments.
5. Security & Regulatory Frameworks:
   • 8 years of experience with regulatory frameworks like NIST, PCI, FedRAMP, CJIS, etc.
   • Performing security reviews of changes to the IT environment.
6. Experience with Cloud Native Technologies:
   • Understanding of technologies like containers, serverless workloads, databases as a service, and other cloud-native offerings.
7. Scripting and Automation:
   • Proficiency in scripting/build tools like Jenkins, GitHub, and Terraform (8 years experience).
8. Monitoring & Configuration Management:
   • Knowledge of configuration management and monitoring tools like Puppet, OCI Monitoring, Splunk, etc.
