City of Montgomery Patrol Officer Examination Announcement

Pay Range:

$38.68 - $46.19 per hour, depending on qualifications
Annual salary: $80,454.40 - $96,075.20
Position Overview:
The City of Montgomery is establishing an eligibility list for Patrol Officer positions. Applicants must meet the following requirements:

Possess a valid driver's license
Be at least 21 years of age
Hold an Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) certification at the time of appointment or be currently enrolled in an OPOTA certification program at the time of application (documentation required).
Examination Details:

A written exam will be administered by a designated testing network.
Candidates must achieve a minimum score of 70% to qualify for placement on the eligibility list.
The examination is available during a specified testing period.
Additional Scoring Points:

Applicants with an associate degree or equivalent two years of college credit toward a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution will receive 5 additional percentage points on their exam score if they pass.
Veterans with an honorable or general discharge (or satisfactory reserve transfer) will receive 5 additional percentage points on their exam score if they pass. Documentation (DD214 or reserve transfer proof) must be submitted with the application.
Openings and Next Steps:

Two current openings are available.
Panel interviews will be scheduled for the top 15 scorers after exam results are certified by the Civil Service Commission.
