Job Description

Description We are looking for an entry-level Accountant to join a dynamic property management firm in Los Angeles, California. This is a Contract-to-permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to develop their expertise in financial operations within the property management sector. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a sharp attention to detail. Responsibilities: - Coordinate with bank lenders to provide documentation of property improvements, such as invoices and cleared checks, for reimbursement purposes. - Maintain accurate records of returned tenant checks across multiple properties using a centralized tracking spreadsheet. - Prepare and upload daily positive pay files to ensure the accuracy of check activity with the bank. - Retrieve and upload bank statements for all accounts during scheduled cycles, ensuring timely management of financial records. - Assist in coding accounts and performing reconciliations to support accurate financial reporting. - Analyze financial entries and ensure proper categorization and documentation. - Support accounts payable functions by accurately processing invoices and payments. - Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and ensure compliance with financial policies. - Collaborate with the team to improve accounting procedures and workflows. Requirements - Educational background or experience in accounting, finance, or a related field (associate degree or higher preferred). - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet applications. - Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail. - Ability to work independently and manage tasks within set deadlines. - Familiarity with property management or banking processes is advantageous. - Experience in account coding, reconciliation, and analysis. - Knowledge of accounts payable procedures and accounting functions. - Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and external partners.
