Tenable Systems Engineer

Location: Remote with a high preference for candidates local to the DC, MD, VA area

Salary Range : $100,000 - $110,000

We are seeking a highly motivated, customer-oriented Tenable   Systems  Engineer   to join our team.  This role focuses on vulnerability management, risk assessment, and supporting security operations to protect enterprise systems.

To be considered for this position, US Citizenship and an active Secret security clearance is required. This is a funded position and is contingent upon verification of a security clearance prior to starting with Cloudshape.

Primary Duties Include but Are Not Limited To:

• Deploy, configure, and maintain Tenable products such as Nessus and Tenable.io.

• Conduct vulnerability scans, analyze results, and prioritize remediation efforts.

• Collaborate with IT, network, and security teams to integrate Tenable solutions into the enterprise environment.

• Monitor and report on system security, compliance, and risk posture.

• Automate routine security tasks and reporting using scripts or Tenable tools.

• Support incident response and security assessments as needed.

• Maintain documentation and provide guidance to junior engineers on vulnerability management best practices.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree
• 3+ years of experience 
• An ability to work independently, multi-task, and communicate effectively will be required for this role. 
• US Citizen with an active Secret security clearance
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, vulnerability assessment, and risk management.
• Familiarity with networking, operating systems, and enterprise security practices.
• Experience with scripting or automation for security operations is a plus.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
