Job Description

MAU is hiring a Structural CAD Designer for our client in Charlotte, NC.
As a Structural CAD Designer, you will produce detailed construction drawings, perform structural calculations, and support innovative boardwalk design projects using AutoCAD and proprietary tools. This is a direct-hire opportunity.

Shift Information

• Monday to Friday 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
• Optional work-from-home available on Fridays

 

Required Education and Experience

• Degree in Civil Engineering Technology
• Proficiency in AutoCAD

 

General Requirements

• Ability to work on fast-paced projects and meet deadlines
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Highly organized, punctual, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects
• Comfortable working with minimal supervision
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings
• Capable of developing complete sets of construction and fabrication drawings
• Strong team collaboration and workload sharing skills

 

Essential Functions

• Report to the Director of Engineering
• Operate in alignment with the company’s core values
• Participate in engineering workload meetings as required
• Travel occasionally as needed
• Use AutoCAD to produce accurate construction and shop drawings
• Use proprietary DH CAD software to create preliminary drawings for the sales team
• Perform structural calculations for our client's components
• Apply relevant sections of AASHTO, ACI, ASCE, and applicable building codes
• Review and check peer drawings for accuracy
• Develop a deep understanding of our client's precast concrete boardwalk systems and manufacturing practices
