Principal Associate, Process Manager Data Management and Governance Engagement Team| Retail Bank The Retail Managing Data Steward Team at Capital One offers a unique opportunity to partner with the Bank data community, acting as a subject matter expert to provide education and guidance toward enterprise data policy compliance. As a Principal Associate of Process Management, you will operate autonomously within the immediate scope and act as a subject matter expert. You will focus on ensuring the Bank is well-managed and compliant with our Information Data Management policy, with a special attention to Early Warning Services (EWS) processes and relationships. You'll monitor external data shares to measure effectiveness and install necessary safeguards or thresholds. By influencing peers and effectively communicating with leadership, you will educate and gain buy-in from key stakeholders concerning control execution. You may participate in audits that require subject matter expertise and urgency. Individuals who excel in this role will have excellent communication skills, exhibit good judgment about when to escalate and when to problem-solve independently, have the ability to influence the team around them, and be passionate about delivering outstanding projects in a timely manner. **General Responsibilities:** As a Principal Process Manager you will: + Leverage subject matter expertise to develop, maintain, and streamline process documentation, driving continuous improvements to enhance efficiency. + Proactively engage with internal customers to understand their needs, gather requirements, and drive process improvements that are aligned with broader organizational goals. + Conduct thorough root cause analysis and implement solutions, proactively identifying gaps and offering options where appropriate. + Track, problem-solve, and resolve process breakdowns. + Navigate between day-to-day work and transformative project work in a fast-paced environment. + Serve as a process subject matter expert to internal and external teams. + Support Early Warning Services data contributions, control execution, processes and stakeholder relationship + Help monitor Early Warning Services file shares and support trouble-shooting, where needed + Lead smaller process improvement work and collaborate with teammates on larger initiatives. A qualified candidate will have: + Ability to effectively communicate and influence partners across multiple levels of the organization + Strong analytical and technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in an agile environment + Excellent communication skills and have the ability to adapt to change quickly + Apply project management frameworks across the entire project lifecycle, and possess a solid grasp of process management concepts and agile methodologies. + The ability to be Technology fluent (or conversational) with a comfort level working in a technology world **Basic Qualifications:** + High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification + At least 3 years of Process or Project Management experience + At least 2 years of experience working in a data management role within a data management organization **Preferred Qualifications:** + Bachelor's Degree or military experience + 4+ years of experience in Process management + 4+ years of experience in Project management + PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification + 3+ years of experience working in a data management role within a data management organization **At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.** The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked. McLean, VA: $102,700 - $117,200 for Principal Process Manager Richmond, VA: $93,400 - $106,600 for Principal Process Manager Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
