Mountain Valley Middle School in Mexico, ME has an opening for a Grade 5, Reading Teacher to work as part of our education team.   

Are you a dedicated educator passionate about igniting curiosity and fostering a love for reading in young learners? young minds and fostering a love for reading? We are currently seeking a dedicated 5th grade reading teacher to join our team at Mountain Valley Middle School. This is an exciting opportunity to Inspire students, engage them in  cultivate their imagination, understanding, as well as making a difference in the lives of students while creating a dynamic learning environment.

We are looking for professionals who love kids!

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive and interactive lesson plans that align with state standards and curriculum objectives, emphasizing inquiry-based learning and critical thinking skills.
• Utilize effective classroom management stategies to establish a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment conducive to student sucess and engagement.
• Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning needs and styles, ensuring all students have the opportunity to excel in reading.
• Incorporate technology to enhance learning experiences and deepen students' understanding of reading concepts.
• Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, providing meanigful feedback to guide their academic growth.
• Collaborate with collegues to align curriculum, share best practices, and participate in professional development opportunities.

We are 45 minutes from Lewiston/Auburn and 90 minutes from Portland. We have great outdoor recreation and children who need you!

We will consider Conditional certfications, if you haven't earned your full Professional certification.

Benefit for Teachers:   If a newly hired teacher (to RSU 10) is professionally certified and chooses not to take courses their first year, they qualify for up to $2500 towards existing student loans.
