FLSA Status: Nonexempt/Hourly Position

Employment: Full-time

Compensation: $35.00/hour to $40.00/hour commensurate with experience.

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor will lead, train, and assist the maintenance team with all facility maintenance responsibilities, including, but not limited to, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, painting, renovations, and new construction. The Supervisor will also assist in preparing and managing the annual facilities budget and expenses, building safety, ordering equipment and supplies, preventive maintenance, and overseeing contractors.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, oversee, train, and assist the maintenance team with preventive maintenance and repairs.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other systems, repair or replace faulty equipment, components, or wiring, and install new equipment or systems as needed
  • Assist in preparing the facility’s annual budget and monitor the department’s performance and expenses against the budget.
  • Utilize skills and in-house resources to minimize the need for vendor services.
  • Identify work that cannot or should not be performed in-house, recommend vendors, assist with bids and assessments, and oversee vendor performance.
  • Lead and assist the team with maintaining all heating, cooling, fire suppression, elevator, electrical, and plumbing systems, which are safe, operating efficiently, and up to federal, state, and local standards, including OSHA compliance.
  • Practice and promote a safe work environment by following or implementing safety procedures and practices, training and educating the team, and communicating the importance of safety.
  • Assist with new construction and building renovation projects, which may include design review, assignment of work, and oversight of the work, schedule, quality, and budget of projects.
  • Maintain the Club’s computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), work Order, or Preventive Maintenance System (PMS) to proactively prevent building systems and equipment failures, schedule and streamline workflows with the team, and track progress.
  • Respond to emergency situations at any hour and perform or oversee the work of appropriate staff or vendors to ensure the building's operations resume.
  • Ensure and assist in maintaining an organized and clean maintenance shop, ensure adequate tools and supplies are available, properly stored and maintained, and comply with appropriate regulations governing the storage and handling of supplies.

Qualifications (knowledge, skills, and abilities):

  • Working knowledge or skills in related trades, such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, construction, and painting.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, and experience in a restaurant, hotel, or private club would be desirable.
  • Must be able to work as needed - nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and read or draw sketches or pencil layouts.
  • Ability to recognize safety and security hazards and correct or eliminate them.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of CMMS or PMS.
  • Credentials that validate skills and abilities may include a certificate, a bachelor’s or associate’s degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of state, federal, and local requirements, regulations, and procedures governing contracts, services, and equipment.
  • Proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate in Spanish, is desirable.
