Gateway Foundation is seeking a dynamic and experienced Executive Director to lead our Chicago Independence Residential Facility and Kedzie Recovery Home. This critical leadership role will oversee operations, ensure the highest standards of care, and drive impactful programs that support individuals on their recovery journey. Executive Directors are responsible for:

  • Driving vision & purpose of the organization, building effective teams and leading them through transformational change and creating opportunities for innovation. Most importantly this is an opportunity of advancement for an individual who aspires to contribute to the cause of SUD treatment on a large scale with a leading organization that is expanding its footprint rapidly.
  • Leading facility operations that include directing program services, developing short and long-term strategic plans, promoting continuous improvement in quality patient care and, utilization and cost effectiveness.
  • As the leader of this facility you will oversee and participate in activities that build rapport, establish links in the community and market programs to promote overall business growth. The other key component of this role will be to provide effective leadership and development to the management team, and maintain an environment that attracts, retains and motivates staff.
  • Ideal candidate has a proven record as a solid operator of both Residential and Outpatient Drug and Alcohol Treatment Programs. This includes:
  • Marketing and Business Development
  • Program Development and Expansion
  • Developing and monitoring budget
  • Lead, Manage and supervise staff (8 direct reports) and a total team of 70+ members
  • Regulatory Compliance

The compensation range for this role is $113,208 - $155,000 plus annual bonus.

Job Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in business or healthcare administration, or a related field
  • 7 years of experience leading, directing, and evaluating program operations, preferably in a for-profit behavioral healthcare or hospital setting
  • Experience with managed care treatment required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Communication abilities necessary to answer telephone, and convey information and directions (critical).
  • Proofreading and checking documents for accuracy, and reading reports, on a regular basis (critical).
  • Ability to drive vehicle to various locations in assigned geographic area (essential).
  • Ability to use a keyboard and video display terminal to receive, retrieve, and/or audit information and data on a regular basis (essential).
