Job Summary/Description:
KXII 12 News the CBS & FOX affiliate and #1 news brand in the market serving North Texas and Southern Oklahoma is looking for an experienced Digital Content Manager to lead daily operations on web mobile social and digital programming including our CTV desk.
Duties/Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Ë Works with News Director on strategic vision for digital department and platforms including KXIIs social media accounts and digital channels
Ë Oversee and successfully expand our digital news desk social media content and apps
Ë Analyzes data/analytics to improve station success on all platforms
Ë Contribute to digital content by hosting from the CTV desk and writing web stories daily
Ë Develop daily digital coverage plans and special content plans
Ë Administrative duties such as weekly scheduling and training new employees
Ë Assist in training and providing valuable feedback for the news team
Ë Cross-departmental collaboration and willingness to work in a team environment
Ë Updating stations social media platforms
Ë Answering news tip hotline
Ë Monitoring emergency scanner traffic
Qualifications/Requirements:
Ë Bachelors Degree in journalism broadcast media or related field
Ë Minimum two years of experience in television news
Ë Previous experience in the digital field required
Ë High-level understanding of journalistic ethics
Ë Strong news writing skills (broadcast and digital)
Ë Strong video editing skills
Ë Knowledge of AP style
Ë Strong English language and spelling & grammar skills
Ë Competent video editor with knowledge of non-linear program(s) such as FinalCut Premiere Edius etc.
Ë Able to work independently
Ë Ability to adjust and excel while working a flexible schedule
Ë Social media savvy
Ë Able to lead a team to achieve success
