Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Controller to oversee the financial operations of a thriving real estate, private equity, and management organization based in Greenville, South Carolina. The successful candidate will play an integral role in managing the financial performance of a diverse portfolio that includes commercial properties, multi-family units, self-storage facilities, and fitness studios. This position requires a strategic mindset, strong analytical abilities, and a collaborative approach to leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, and sales processes, to ensure organizational profitability and growth.
- Manage and review budgets across multiple entities, conducting monthly assessments with management teams.
- Oversee daily cash flow, process fund transfers, and ensure timely invoice payments.
- Administer and distribute 1099 forms while managing corporate insurance policies and renewals.
- Prepare financial projections, pro forma analyses, and investment deal points to guide decision-making.
- Conduct due diligence for acquisitions, mergers, and new development opportunities.
- Support general managers with ongoing budget guidance and accountability for financial performance.
- Review and approve monthly financial reconciliations, action plans, and budget-to-actual reports.
- Process investor payments, contractor invoices, and project pay applications in a timely manner.
- Ensure tax-efficient structuring of deals and lead annual tax planning for the parent company and subsidiaries. Requirements - A minimum of 1 year of experience in a finance or accounting leadership role.
- Proficiency in document management, including scanning, compiling, and controlling financial documents.
- Familiarity with AIA billing and contract documentation standards.
- Strong organizational and project management skills to handle multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to provide clear financial guidance and accountability to management teams.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance and risk assessment for financial operations.
- Experience in preparing financial statements, budgets, and investor reports.
