Position Overview
C&S Wholesale Grocers desires to create the most safe, efficient, and service forward fleet in the country. As a Professional Driver with C&S Wholesale Grocers, you will start your driving career with the company by working with a Professional Driver Trainer (PDT) who will provide coaching and insight on the C&S Way which includes company and regulatory requirements. Once you have successfully completed our new hire training program, you will maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through deliveries of product and services while performing all other assigned duties. All functions must be completed in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with the Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

As a Driver, you will maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through deliveries of product and services while performing all other assigned duties. All functions must be completed in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with the Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
You will contribute by:
- Drive a tractor-trailer (semi-truck/eighteen-wheeler) combination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations, to transport and deliver dry groceries to retail customers. Strive to provide a positive customer experience by completing the delivery with professionalism.
- Driver is responsible for making an average of 3 stops per day (with possible overnight). At point of delivery, Driver is responsible for unload and driver assistance. Pallets can consist of all types of products with a range of pallet height and pallet weight. Whenever possible, backhauls will be added where and when possible.
- For specific customers, Drivers will be required to count cases as well as pallet verification upon delivery
- Ability to maneuver truck into loading or unloading position in tight urban areas. Ability to operate trailer lift gate in a safe manner (company will train and certify as needed) for curbside deliveries
- In accordance with I.C.C. regulations, effective use of electronic logging equipment (People Net), conduct Pre-trip and Post-Trip vehicle inspections for equipment condition reporting

Skills
- DOT Certified, Class A Commercial Driver's License, Retail Deliveries in Urban Locations
- Special Skills-Lift gate deliveries with MHE, MHE certification (Company will certify upon hire)
- Valid Department Of Transportation Physical Exam
- Enjoy working with people - Quality and customer-service focused.
Years Of Experience
- 1-2: Require 1-year of prior CDL-A driving urban delivery experience, valid CDL-A license
- 1-2: Ability to understand bill of lading in order to fully execute assignments
- 1-2: DOT Certified
