Location Description: Moments away from the rest of the world, but a world away from it all, Stonewall Resort is a truly unique lakeside destination for vacations, meetings, weddings, reunions, and romantic getaways. Our rustic yet elegant Adirondack-style lodge and spectacular cottage collection is perched alongside quiet lake waters and the Arnold Palmer Signature Golf Course, while surrounded by 1,900 picture-perfect, “Close to Nature” park acres.  Overview:

Ensure total guest satisfaction in banquet functions through effective communication skills and efficient anticipation of guest requirements.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION

  1. Carry out policies and procedures of Stonewall Resort and Benchmark Management Company.
  2. Ensure that liquor laws and liquor rules of the State of West Virginia are strictly adhered to. Ensure the beverage service policies of Stonewall Resort are strictly adhered to.
  3. Maintain the highest degree of professionalism.
  4. Maintain effective solution-oriented communications within the department and with other departments.
  5. Ensure that set-up, service, and breakdown of functions is completed according to the details of the function sheet.
  6. Know how to set a function room properly per Stonewall Resort standards.
  7. Know how to set a reception area properly per Stonewall Resort standards.
  8. Comply with all sanitation standards and health department regulations as outlined in the training manual.
  9. Able to take meal counts on a function, accurately record them, accurately update the counts, and serve the meals to guests in the proper order.
  10. Knowledgeable of proper wine service.
  11. Know how to properly remove trays from a function and know the proper procedure for disposal of these trays.
  12. Participate in on-going training process for the position.
  13. Maintain proper service standards throughout the function period.
  14. Maintain lines of communication with supervisors and guests to ensure that all needs are fulfilled.
  15. Attend all meetings as required.
  16. The flexibility to work a varied schedule due to business levels and industry demand (24 hours/7days a week)
  17. Works flexible hours (weekends and extended eight-hour days).
  18. Knows property layout and directs guests by utilizing daily event sheets, function sheets, or other documents or reference materials.
  19. Review and understand daily event sheets and function sheets in order to properly and knowledgeably respond to any guest or coworker requests, questions, or concerns.
  20. Maintaining uniform and grooming standards as outlined in the employee handbook.
  21. Assist in the initial and ongoing training of on-call service staff.
  22. Assist Banquet supervisors in directing banquet on call servers in opening duties, execution of function and completion of closing duties.
  23. Knowledge of tray lifting and carrying (10-20min.).

LAST STATEMENT: Provide assistance in other job classification as determined necessary by immediate superior.

Qualifications:

Minimum one year in service position within the food service industry. Liquor experience preferred. Banquet experience helpful. Customer service experience necessary. Excellent organizational, administrative, communication and leadership skills.
